I can never have enough dynamic Civil War poses in my battles.  I have bought multiples of every Civil War figure produced by Marx, Accurate, Imex, CTS, Conte, TSSD, Cunnyngham, Marxman, Replicants, Timpo, Deetail, Italieri, Reamsa, Andy Gard and others. I've made hundreds of conversions trying to get the poses I've wanted but which were never produced. And still I've craved more. (Yes...my handle is Playset Addict for a reason.) Well, "more" has arrived through the advent of Speira Miniatures and their scalable, individually 3D printed figures. Hundreds of poses are available! Want more casualties? Here they are. Want really cool Medical figures? They got 'em.  Want Hand to hand fighting figures? Oh Yeah....You want Special Units like the Iron Brigade or Berndan's Sharpshooters? They're available.  And do you want them to match in scale your favorite figures?  They can do it. It's an addict's dream...or nightmare...A new paradigm has arrived.

I started with my Marx Conversions and the Speira....I painted the Speira guys to blend in with the Marx.

Then I decided a Union Cavalry counterattack would be kind of cool....

I also wanted to see how the windows I added to the LOD/Bartzso Buckman's Tavern looked in photos.

Some will consider them a bit pricey.  They cost approximately $5.00 each currently. However most of us have kind of been going the way of the frog in the kettle as we have gone from paying 50 cents a recast back in the 90s, to a little higher when CTS made new figures, to over a dollar a figure with Barzso, Conte and TSSD, to over two bucks a figure for Cunnyngham and Austin, to over 3 bucks a figure for the new reissue Barzso to over ten bucks a figure for Publius and Plastic Platoon out of Russia. Many of us have paid even more for vintage character figures.   And let's not even talk about the price of painted metal figures these days.  When you factor in the breadth of the Speira range and  the fact that you rarely need more than one of  any given pose, the price seems more than fair for hand made, made to order figures.

And they do paint up quite nicely.  Interested?
